About this song
India's national anthem, written and composed by Rabindranath Tagore in 1911 and adopted in 1950. It's written here in C, so Sa is C and the F sharps are tivra Ma. The full anthem takes about 52 seconds.
How to play it: Steady, dignified 4/4. Strum down on each beat and let the chords ring; the anthem shouldn't bounce.
Lead: C major with F# (Sa = C, tivra Ma). Most of the tune sits between C and G. The F sharps (tivra Ma) come in 'Gujarata Maratha' and 'mangala dayaka', and the anthem ends on F (Ma), not on C.
