About this song

Chopin's Nocturne in E flat, Op. 9 No. 2 (1832), the best known of his nocturnes. An easy fingerstyle version of the piano score with the guitar tuned down a half step (E♭ A♭ D♭ G♭ B♭ E♭), no capo, in 12/8: the theme and its repeat (bars 1-8) and the last two bars as the ending, the melody an octave lower without its ornaments, a bass note on every beat.

How to play it: A simple 12/8 strum for the chord sheet: down on each of the four beats, up on the third eighth of each. The tab itself is fingerpicked; play it from the Guitar Tab view.

Lead: Eb major. E flat major on E major shapes (every string a half step down); count four slow beats a bar, three eighths each.
